Fuzeta
Fuzeta boasts waterfront cafes, restaurants and bars with excellent food and friendly service.  Being a fishing town there are a selection of fish restaurants.  The nearest cafe is 1 minute from the apartment, the bank and cash point 2 minutes.  There is a market on the 1st Thursday of the month, a flea market the 1st Sunday of the month.  The closest supermarket is a 3 minute walk from the apartment and has a good selection available including fresh bread in the morning.

Beaches
Fuzeta benefits from un-crowded sandy beaches and a calm warmer water lagoon ideal for children.  A 5 minute ferry across the lagoon gives access to Isla Amenos on the Atlantic coast, where you will find unspoilt golden sandy beaches.  The Ria Formosa runs inland of the Atlantic coast can be viewed (through 180 degrees) from the apartment and explored as you head east or west from Fuzeta.

Olhao & Beyond
Olhao has a regular Saturday market and boosts larger supermarkets.  If you love to shop (window or for real) then more serious shopping can be found at Ria Shopping in Olhao and closer to Faro (Forum Algarve off the N125).  There is also a cinema at the Forum which shows English films.  As well as the coastal towns mentioned there are some inland towns worth exploring which give a different view of the Eastern Algarve (Estoi, Sao Bras, Sagres).

Golf
There are 5 of the top golf courses accessible in easy driving from Fuzeta (15-20 minutes) - for example Benamor, Quinta de Ria, Quinta de Cima and newly opened Monte Rei.  A little further is a hillier course at Castro Marim.  Approximately 50 minutes bring you to the courses of the Western Algarve (Vale de Lobo, San Lorenzo, Qunita de Lago and the courses around Villamoura).

Outdoor Activities & Water Sports
As well as swimming and walking, there are many roads suitable for exploring by bike and the terrain can offer more challenging mountain bike routes.  Water sports such as wind and kite surfing are available in Fuzeta and along the Eastern Algarve.

Bird Watching
If you like to explore the natural habitat and watch birds then this apartment allows you to observe the wildlife on the Ria Formosa from close quarters and is an excellent base for the wetland at Castro Marim.
